haiku

i had to write 2 haiku poems for class. i have never written haiku and, honestly, didn't even know what a haiku was. so here are my first ever attempts.

"burbs" 
suburban creatures

anchored in oceans, asleep
dreams, drowning, defeat 

"sailor speak" 
poet on paper
like a sailor, when i speak
love, spilling in ink
